Frequently Asked Questions

  • What about lockdown?
This is a difficult time and we promise to be here for you in every way we can. Take advantage of our 30 day free trial and if you need more help after that, simply let us know about your situation and we'll work something out together.
  • How is Muscato better than a spreadsheet?
So many ways. The biggest one is in the search capabilities, which handles typos and synonyms and allows combined searching across all fields, so you can search for example for “advent piano SAB” and get a list of all pieces for the Advent season with piano accompaniment and SAB voicing. Check out all the features above for more ways Muscato is better than a spreadsheet.
  • How does the free trial work?
Just choose a plan and sign-up; you won't need to enter any billing details. All of the features of your chosen plan will be immediately available to you. At the end of your trial period, you can easily manage your billing details from "Account Settings > Manage Billing".

We partner with Stripe for a simple, safe, and secure checkout. Stripe follows strict US Federal and international banking laws. See here for details.
  • Do I really get Personal accounts for my musicians for free with an Organization plan?
Yes! It's really that simple. Our goal is to empower musicians to focus on the music by simplifying collaboration and automating the boring stuff.
  • Do you offer a discount for nonprofits?
Yes! Simply include your EIN (tax ID number) when you sign up and you’ll automatically save 10%. Cannot be used with other discount codes; we’ll apply whichever discount is greater.
  • Why the name Muscato?
Muscato is a portmanteau of Music Catalog. You can also use it as a verb if you like. For example, I'm going to pour myself a cup of coffee and go muscato for a few minutes.
  • We have a [traditional, contemporary, mixed] service. Can I use this?
Yes! Muscato is designed specifically for use with sheet music libraries, although it could also be used with other formats.
  • I already have a spreadsheet with my music. Can I import it?
Yes! Simply contact our support team and we will make sure it gets properly imported.
  • What’s the difference between a user and a member?
A user is someone who has access to your account; they can add and search music, view and plan performances, etc. A member is typically a musician who doesn’t need access to your account, but with whom you need to communicate about performances and rehearsals.
  • Can I download a copy of my library?
Yes! Your data is yours. You can always download a copy of your library as a CSV file, which can be easily viewed with Excel, OpenOffice, and similar programs.
  • I have a LOT more pieces of music than that. Can I get more room in my library?
Yes! Just send a message to support and we'll get you squared away.
  • Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes! You can cancel your subscription at any time from within your billing settings. Your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period and you won’t be charged again. If you’re on a yearly plan and would like your remaining subscription to be pro-rated, please send a quick message to support and we’ll be happy to assist you.
  • Can I pay by check or direct deposit?
Yes! Simply sign up for the free trial then send us an email letting us know how you’d like to pay.
  • What happens to my data if I cancel my subscription?
Your data is yours. We’ll make your library data available for download for a period of at least 90 days after cancellation. You can download a copy of your library as a CSV file, which can be easily viewed with Excel, OpenOffice, and similar programs. Please keep in mind that we’re still paying to store your data during this time, so we reserve the right to delete it after this period.
  • What are the system requirements?
To make the most of Muscato, it’s helpful to have a mobile device (smartphone or tablet), otherwise all you need is an up-to-date web browser and Internet connection. We support the latest versions of Firefox, Chrome, Safari, and Edge. For the best experience, we recommend Firefox or Chrome.
